Pondering the Gifts of Kaiut Yoga - Part 2

Updated: Oct 7, 2023

This is Post 2 of 10. As I move towards my 60th birthday, I am pondering the gifts brought to my life by the practice of the Kaiut Method, my work with Tucker Shelton and my studies with Francisco Kaiut. I’d like to share some of those thoughts with you. I’m thinking one post per day as I count down to 60.

Have you ever just KNOWN right away that something was going to change your life?! When I walked out of the yoga studio that night after my first Kaiut experience, the foot pain that I had been dealing with for SO LONG was down by about 70%. That’s pretty significant and the relief that I felt, the reminder of what it COULD be like was priceless! For the next few days as I moved through my regular life walking the dog, walking to the mailbox, seeing clients and everything else… I kept saying to myself, “How is it possible that I feel SO GOOD?!” I seriously could not believe how good I felt, how much more ease I had in my body from just one experience with the Kaiut Method.

The remarkable relief I felt in my foot diminished a bit but never went back to the intensity that I had been experiencing for so long. I know that on the path to healing it is sometimes two steps forward and one step back. I see this as the “Window of Possibility” being thrown open wide so that we can see and feel what it is possible if we just continue on the path.

At that point, Tucker was the only Kaiut teacher in town (and one of only two in North Carolina!) and I became a regular in all of his Kaiut classes! I must say that never in my wildest imaginings had thought that I would ever become a yoga teacher! And yet, I embarked on my first Kaiut training 10 months later in Telluride, CO.

It is my wish that everyone has a chance to experience this approach to the body, to have the opportunity to improve their lives and to slow the aging process! It has been and continues to be, a great game changer for my body... now as I find myself days away from 60, I feel that I get younger every day. What a huge gift this is. To feel freedom in my limbs, to feel a grounded sense of balance in my body and my movements, to feel young and ageless, to develop strength, stability and tone and to regain my lost mobility! That's what I am talking about!

Restrictions develop in our super adaptable bodies due to injury, lifestyle, stress, etc. This approach helps us to dissolve the restrictions and stiffness and to bring freedom back to our movement.

I refuse to accept that getting old is a sentence of decrepitude!

I invite you to join me, no matter where you live as Tucker and I teach these classes online at Tucker Yoga. Join me on this amazing journey and see what this method can do for you!
